Main Event moments, new online poker promotions and High Times lead into $15M in Dual Venoms.
-- Americas Cardroom is moving into a packed August after a July that mixed major player storylines, new online poker tournaments, live packages and a High Times partnership.
Alex Foxen and Chris Moneymaker both appeared prominently during ESPN’s 2026 Main Event coverage. Foxen called a 67,100-chip shove with A♠J♣ against J♥10♥ and won 142,500. Moneymaker later exited on the stone bubble after calling with J♥9♦ against A♥A♠ on an 8♥ 7♠ 7♦ 7♣ 8♠ board.
On July 28, The Moneymaker Bubble Effect turned that story into a $0.10 buy-in, $10,000 guaranteed tournament. The player eliminated directly on the money bubble received a $2,650 Venom seat.
July also launched the Run Up Series with 163 events and more than $10 million guaranteed, opened the cumulative-stack $2.5 million guaranteed 25th Anniversary Tournament, and started Venom Fever with more than 1,500 guaranteed Venom seats. Two Beast satellites awarded 20 Aruba packages worth $5,000 each.
Americas Cardroom also became an official sponsor of High Times’ Kicking Back, a World Cup docuseries hosted by Ethan Zohn, with Martin Zamani included in sponsored poker and cannabis culture segments.
August brings the Venom Vault, three Run Up Main Events on August 16 and two $2,650 Mystery Bounty Venoms starting August 13. The NLH Venom guarantees $12 million with a $500,000 top bounty. The PLO Venom guarantees $3 million with a $250,000 top bounty.
