Jack Welch Management Institute Ranked Top 10 Online MBA Program by Poets&Quants for Fifth Straight Year

JWMI recognized in the list of best online MBA programs for the eighth year in a row

The Jack Welch Management Institute at Strayer University (JWMI) was recognized by Poets&Quants, the premier online publication for business education news, as the 9th best online MBA program for 2026, securing its spot in the top 10 for the fifth consecutive year. Data for the rankings came from surveys distributed to participating schools and to alumni, with 61 schools included in this year’s ranking.

"Preparing students for what comes next in their careers is both challenging and deeply rewarding work,” said Dr. Antoinette Farmer-Thompson, President of Strayer University. “This ranking affirms the quality of our JWMI programs and our shared commitment to helping students build strong futures for themselves, their families and their communities.”

Poets&Quants based its rankings on three core criteria of online business programs, which include: admissions standards, academic experience, and career outcomes. Data is collected through both school and alumni surveys and includes a wide range of topics such as GPA, acceptance rate, student engagement, program fulfillment, and more.

JWMI has consistently remained in Poets&Quants’ annual online MBA program rankings. Prior to this year’s announcement, JWMI placed at 8 in both 2024 and 2025. The program has also been highly ranked among online MBA programs by The Princeton Review and CEO Magazine. Since becoming part of Strayer University in 2011, JWMI has grown rapidly and graduated more than 5,000 students. Founded by the renowned CEO and business icon, the late Jack Welch, JWMI was designed to provide students with opportunities to learn from business leaders and propel their careers forward. Jack Welch’s influence spans the curriculum, the faculty, the students, and the administration. JWMI currently enrolls approximately 2,000 students, representing over 38 countries.
